Porcelain Veneers

Background

Porcelain veneers have risen in popularity in the dental field over the years, as more and more people with dental issues are finding these to be an economical and satisfying solution. Porcelain veneers are thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded to teeth. Veneers have the ability to enhance your entire smile.

The Process

Creating a custom set of veneers only takes two visits to your dentist. The first step involves making an impression (mold) of your teeth and choosing a shade of white for your new smile. On your return, the teeth will be cleansed with a special liquid chemical. This chemical aids the bonding process. The custom-made veneer is fitted to the teeth using a dental adhesive (called “cement”) and a special light sets the bond.

The Results

Worn, crooked, chipped, or misshaped teeth can be an aesthetic nuisance. However, more than that, they can hamper good dental hygiene practices. A lopsided bite can develop into discomfort and a chipped or cracked tooth can encourage tooth decay. Porcelain veneers can restore and protect your confident healthy smile. Proper care will enhance the life of your new smile. This includes proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental checkups.
